Fine Art Giclées

Roland Limited Edition Fine Art Prints
of Fine Artwork on Archival Canvas and Watercolor Paper

Fine Art Giclées are inkjet reproductions of original artwork at a level of quality required for Limited Edition prints. FotoTechnika has been producing Fine Art Giclées since 1997 when the craft was still experimental.

The process of making a FotoTechnika Fine Art Giclée begins when the artist meets with the printmaking staff so that the artist's intention can be understood and then maintained throughout the process. Next, a high resolution digital scan of an original watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel or select mixed media work is created. Test prints on either archival 100% cotton fine art paper or canvas that are as faithful to the original as possible are generated. After approval, most Fine Art Giclées are produced on our Roland 8-color printers. These printing devices are FotoTechnika's primary printing system for fine art giclées which use Roland pigmented inks on archival media up to 60" wide (58" printable width). Once printing is finished, the giclée is sprayed with a UV protective coating for longevity, durability and image stability and then it is carefully packaged for delivery.

Upon completion of the printing process, images are digitally stored in-house on archival CDs and DVDs as well as in network storage, and a BAT (Bon-â-tirer) or final artist's proof is also archived for future reference in printing. The repeatability of digital output allows the artist to have giclées printed as needed instead of being required to order a large quantity of prints at one time. Archived materials that can be revisited when a new order is placed insure that consistent print quality is faithfully maintained every time an edition is continued. Personalized attention, dedication to accurate color reproduction and use of an archival system have garnered FotoTechnika Fine Art Imaging a reputation for excellence in quality and service.
