Along with our love for the arts, we love history; so the processes we employ are ideal for preserving both art and history. FotoTechnika has created considerable excitement with the reproduction of historical prints of North Florida and South Georgia, particularly Jacksonville and St.-Augustine. FotoTechnika has partnered with the Jacksonville Historical Society and other historical conservationists to market large prints from scanned media which are archived at the lab. New images are constantly added to a reference library of available images. These historic images are ideal for prominent display in public places such as restaurants and offices as well as in homes. The images can be printed on either traditional photographic paper or fine art media and can be used to make fine art note cards or a variety of other creative specialties. Image usage fees paid to the copyright owners help further their efforts to preserve local history.
Cherished personal antique photos and film can also be preserved by allowing FotoTechnika to scan the originals, print them on archival materials and save image files on archival CDs and DVDs specifically designed for long-term digital storage. Once scanned, the images can be digitally retouched to restore them close to their original beauty. Simulated hand-coloring is also available. All scanning, retouching and reproduction are done on the premises so you will always know where your photo heirlooms are.
